Stevens was named the MVP of the 2002 Eagle Classic Tournament, hosted by Eastern Michigan after averaging 27 points and 8.5 in the Golden Griffins?™ two wins en route to the tournament?™s title. Stevens tied a school record for most three-point field goals in a game with seven against Stetson, and set the program record for three-point shooting percentage at 1.000 with her 7-for-7 effort against the Hatters Nov. 22. She was just one steal shy from tying her personal high of seven steals in the season opening win as well. Her 25 points and 10 rebounds against the host Eastern Michigan squad was her fifth career double-double game, and first against an opponent from outside the MAAC.

Wittlieb was named to the 2002 Eagle Classic All-Tournament team after dropping 18 points on Stetson in the season opener Nov. 22, and nine points against Eastern Michigan in the tournament?™s championship game Nov. 23. Wittlieb came off the bench in the first half against Eastern Michigan and helped the Golden Griffins go on 20-2 run with three, three-point field goals in 5:57, including two three-point bombs on back-to-back Canisius possessions. Wittlieb, who is not a scholarship player for the Griffs, shot 38.9 percent from behind the three-point line and is currently averaging 13.5 points per contest through the team?™s first two games.
