This year the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is taking a stand against breast cancer. From January 30 to February 17, 2003 the MAAC women's basketball teams will have one of their home games designated to educating and raising money for breast cancer awareness. The MAAC will be working in conjunction with the Young Survivors Coalition. All the proceeds from the event will benefit the YSC in their efforts to "educate and influence the medical, research, breast cancer and legislative communities to address breast cancer in women 40 and under."

To show their support, the women's basketball players will wear a special T-shirt with the MAAC, and YSC logo on it during their warm-up sessions before the game. Also all MAAC coaches will wear a pink ribbon throughout the event. Representatives from the YSC will be at games handing out ribbons to all MAAC fans, and there will be an educational booth set up where donations will be greatly appreciated.
