CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Meg Abele, Iona
5-10, F, So., Lititz, PA/Warwick

Sophomore Meg Abele netted a career-best 29 points on 11-14 shooting from the field in a win over Fairfield on Wednesday night. Abele also drained a season-high six three pointers, one shy of her own share of the school record. She averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games this week.

5-10, Jr., G, Twinsburg, OH/Twinsburg

Came off the bench for the first time this season against Iona and her 27 points were the most scored by a Peahen this season (previously was 22, which she did vs. Loyola and Kristen Hood did vs. Iona in the first game vs. the Gaels.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Caitlin Flood, Manhattan
5-11, Fr., F, Blairstown, NJ/North Warren

Flood averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games this week for Manhattan. Against Niagara, Flood scored 13 of her 22 points in the second half, tying her career-high set just three weeks ago vs. Iona, hitting on 8-14 shots from the floor. Meanwhile, Flood also totaled 11 points, a team-high eight rebounds, to go along with a team-high five assists in a career-high 38 minutes vs. Canisius. The freshman forward has now averaged 16.3 points in her last three games and 13.7 points over her last seven contests, and has scored in double-figures in the last three games, and six of the last nine games since returning from an injury.
