Edison, NJ ?“ Iona?™s Richard Kiplagat has been selected MAAC Cross Country runner of the week for the second time this season, while Salome Kosgei picks up her third runner of the week honor this season.

Kiplagat (Marakwet, Kenya) finished second overall at the 2005 Pre-National Invitational hosted by Indiana State University at the site of the 2005 NCAA Championship meet. Kiplagat blazed a time of 23:33 in the White Race on the 8K course. The time was the third fastest on the day in the event that featured the nation?™s elite runners. The Gaels finished ninth as a team in the White Race.

Kosgei (Keio, Kenya) finished 37th overall at the 2005 Pre-National Invitational hosted by Indiana State University at the site of the 2005 NCAA Championship meet. Kosgei ran a time of 21:23 in the 6K White Race on Saturday afternoon. For the first time in their history, the Iona women?™s cross country program fielded a full team at the Pre-National Invite and finished 26th as a team in the White Race.
