Burgess, Malski, Germain and Yee Earn MAAC Swimming & Diving Honors

EDISON, NJ ?“ Rider University?™s Dan Burgess (Greeley, Colo.) and Marist College?™s Lauren Malski (Trumbull, Conn.) have been named the MAAC Men?™s and Women?™s Swimmers of the Week, respectively. Niagara University?™s Dave Germain (Oswego, N.Y.) and Fairfield University?™s Katherine Yee (Bethesda, Md.) have been named the MAAC Men?™s and Women?™s Divers of the Week, respectively.

Burgess, a senior at Rider, won two individual events in a 130-110 win over Maryland-Baltimore County. He picked up first-place finishes in the 200 free (1:42.44) and the 100 free (47.52). Burgess was also part of the 400-yard medley relay team that triumphed with a time of 3:32.91.

Malski, a junior at Marist, took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.79) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.10) at the Army Invitational. She was also a member of the first-place 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay.

Germain, a junior at Niagara, broke the three-meter school record by scoring 283.42 points in the Purple Eagles?™ 141-78 win over the University of New Hampshire. He also took first place in the one-meter event, scoring 219.22. Germain then won both the one- and three-meter dives against Duquesne, with scores of 212.40 and 212.58, respectively.

Yee, a sophomore at Fairfield, set a new school six-dive record on the one-meter board (250.20) in the Stags?™ 140-44 win over Saint Peter?™s. She also took first in the one-meter dive (152.77) and the three-meter dive (203.78) in a meet at Providence last weekend.
