EDISON, NJ ?“ Niagara University?™s Walter Garcia (Oaxaca, Mexico) and Victoria Tiso (Clarence, N.Y.) have been named as the MAAC Men?™s and Women?™s Tennis Players of the Week.

Garcia, a sophomore for the Purple Eagles, helped the squad to its sixth win of the season and second straight victory in a 5-2 win over Youngstown State. Competing at the number one singles position, Garcia posted his sixth consecutive singles win, 0-6, 7-6 (7-1), 7-5. The victory improved his season tally to 12-5 overall, 7-0 in dual matches, and 5-0 at number one singles.

Tiso, a freshman at Niagara, posted the Purple Eagles?™ lone point in a 6-1 loss to Binghamton University. Competing at number six singles, Tiso notched a 6-3, 6-3 victory, improving to 6-6 overall and 5-3 in dual matches this season.
