OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Whitney Card, Canisius

Card averaged 3.5 goals and 4.5 points to help the Griffs go 2-0 last week. Led Canisius with four goals and two assists in a 13-9 win over Marist, the first Canisius victory over the Red Foxes in the nine-year history of the program. She added three goals in a 14-9 victory over Fairfield as the Griffs improved thier MAAC record to 4-0, the best conference start in school history. She leads the team with 43 goals.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Samantha Falcone, Le Moyne
5-7, So, GK, Syracuse, NY/West Genesee
Went 2-0 with a 4.50 goals against average and .609 save percentage. Falcone stopped 14 of 23 shots en route to her ninth victory of the season. She lowered her goals against average for the season to 7.64.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Kate Noftsker, Marist
5-7, Fr., M, Needham, Mass./Needham
Freshman Kate Noftsker had a breakout week for Marist, tallying 13 points including 10 goals. She recorded her first career had trick in a win over Villanova and posted seven points against Niagara, a season-high for any Marist player. Her five goals that game tied her for a Marist season high as well. Noftsker tripled her season scoring output while adding six ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers in a critical week as she helped the Red Foxes go 2-1. She shot a much improved 66.7% and 93% of her 15 shots were on goal.
