EDISON, NJ ?“ Marist College?™s Inge Le-Grange (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Manhattan College?™s Bogdan Borta (Bacau, Romania) have been named as the MAAC Women?™s and Men?™s Tennis Players of the Week.

Le-Grange, a senior captain for the Red Foxes, helped Marist remain undefeated in MAAC play with a pair of victories at first singles and a win at number one doubles. In the Red Foxes?™ win over Saint Peter?™s she posted a 6-2, 6-1 win, and followed that up with a 6-0, 6-3 singles victory and paired with Yana Tikhonko for a 9-8 (6) doubles win in the team?™s victory over Niagara.

Borta, a freshman for the Jaspers, posted five wins at first singles and four wins at first doubles last week, helping Manhattan maintain its perfect record in MAAC competition. Against Siena, Borta won 6-2, 6-3 in singles and teamed with Peter Czink for an 8-2 doubles victory. Facing Marist, Borta posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory in singles play. Versus Loyola, Borta won 6-0, 6-1 in singles and combining with Czink for an 8-1 win in doubles. Against Saint Peter?™s, Borta chipped in with a 6-2, 6-2 singles win, and he and Czink notched an 8-2 doubles victory. Borta capped off the week against Rider with a 6-0, 6-0 singles score and joined Czink once again for an 8-1 doubles tally.
