EDISON, NJ ?“ Siena College?™s Sarah Mayer (Latham, N.Y.) and Rider University?™s Ragdee Saberon (Berlin, N.J.) have been named as the MAAC Women?™s and Men?™s Tennis Players of the Week.

Mayer, a freshman for the Saints, capped off an impressive first-year campaign with a 6-0, 6-4 win at first singles in the team?™s loss to Marist. Mayer completed the season at 7-0 in MAAC play and improved her singles mark to 16-1 on the year. In addition, Mayer has not dropped a set in conference play this season.

Saberon, a junior for the Broncs, won three singles and three doubles matches last week. Against Monmouth, he posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at number two singles and teamed up with Chris Stanco at number one doubles for a 9-7 victory. Facing Wagner, Saberon responded with a 6-1, 6-3 win at first singles and joined Stanco again for an 8-5 victory at first doubles. He then helped Rider to its lone MAAC win of the year against Loyola, notching a 6-2, 6-0 victory at first singles and pairing with Stanco at first doubles once again for an 8-6 win.
