Collins, Walsh-Thomas, Korn and Mangona Earn MAAC Swimming & Diving Honors

EDISON, N.J. ?“ Marist College?™s Pat Collins (Nutley, N.J.) and Jenell Walsh-Thomas (Medford, N.J) have been named the MAAC Men?™s and Women?™s Swimmers of the Week, respectively. Rider University?™s Dylan Korn (Hawthorne, N.Y.) and Marist?™s Melissa Mangona (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) have been named the MAAC Men?™s and Women?™s Divers of the Week, respectively.

Collins, a senior captain, posted a first place finish in the 50- (21.47) and the 100-yard freestyle (47.20) against Fordham University on October 24. Collins was also a part of the winning 400-yard medley relay team (3:38.48).

Walsh-Thomas, a freshman, also had a strong swim against the Fordham Rams in her first collegiate dual meet. Although finishing second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:31.29), the time was fast enough to break the Red Fox dual meet record for the event. Later in the meet, she captured a first place victory the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.26) as well as her second school record for the day.

Korn, a junior, placed second in both the 1-meter (276.40) and 3-meter (277.85) diving events in Friday?™s meet against Rutgers University and Seton Hall University.

Mangona, a junior, took first place honors in the 1-meter (252.15) and the 3-meter (255.38) for the Red Foxes against the Rams.
