Edison, N.J. ?“ The 2007 Anaconda Sports MAAC Baseball Championship begins on Thursday, May 24, at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, N.Y.

Le Moyne College (31-17, 22-3 MAAC) earned the top seed in this year?™s championship and will face fourth-seeded Canisius College (20-33, 13-12 MAAC) in Game One at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. In Game Two at 7:00 p.m., second-seeded Manhattan College (33-17, 21-5 MAAC) will play number three seed Marist College (20-30, 14-12 MAAC).

The winners of the first two contests will meet at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, with the losers battling in an elimination game at 11:00 a.m. The winner of Game Three will then face the loser of Game Four in a second elimination game at 7:00 p.m. The championship concludes on Saturday, May 26 with the championship game slated for 1:00 p.m. If necessary, a seventh and deciding game will be played at 4:00 p.m.

The winner of the 2007 Anaconda Sports MAAC Baseball Championship will receive the league?™s automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The 16 regional sites and hosts will be announced on ESPN and at www.ncaasports.com at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 27. The 64-team field, with first-round regional pairings and site assignments, will be revealed in a live, half-hour telecast on ESPN at 12:30 p.m., on Monday, May 28. Competition will begin on Friday, June 1.
