Marist Eliminates Canisius with 5-1 Win in Game Three of the 2007 Anaconda Sports MAAC Baseball Championship

Fishkill, N.Y. - Third-seeded Marist College (21-31) eliminated fourth-seeded Canisius College (20-35) with a 5-1 win in game three of the 2007 Anaconda Sports MAAC Baseball Championship at Dutchess Stadium.

The Red Foxes got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning, with Keith Glasser scoring as Max Most reached first base on fielding error, and Brian McDonough knocked an RBI single to left field to bring in Richard Curylo. Kenny Anderson then put his squad up, 3-0, with a sacrifice fly to center field to allow Most to cross home plate.

In the third inning, the lead was extended to 5-0 for Marist with Travis Musolf hitting an RBI single to center field and later scoring himself.

Canisius managed to score one run in the top of the sixth as Branson Joseph crossed home plate on a single to center field by Perry Silverman.

Marist's Josh Rickards improved to 6-4 on the mound with the win, while Canisius' Alex MacKenzie ended the season at 4-9.

Marist will play the loser of Game 4 between #1 Le Moyne College and #2 Manhattan College in Game 5.
