MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Abraham Ng’etich, Iona

The No. 5 ranked Iona College men's cross country team earned an impressive victory in the White Race at the 2006 Pre-National Invitational at LaVern Gibson XC Course hosted by Indiana State University. Junior Abraham Ng'etich finished eighth to lead the Gaels to a first place finish in the 36 team field. The Gaels finished ahead of No. 3 Stanford, No. 25 Florida, No. 21 Notre Dame to round out the top 4. Ng'etich crossed the line with a time of 23:41.9 in the 8K race.
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
McKayla Plank, Iona
Los Gatos, CA
Sophomore McKayla Plank finished sixth overall leading Iona to a ninth place standing in the White Race at the 2006 Pre-National Invitational at La Vern Gibson XC Course hosted by Indiana State University. Plank finished the 6K race with a time of 20:22.3. The No. 4 NE Regionally ranked Gaels were the top Northeast team in the White Race.
