2006 MAAC Cross Country Championships set for Friday

Edison, NY - The 2006 MAAC Cross Country Championships will be held on Friday, October 27 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY. The men's 8K race will begin at 2:30 p.m. followed by the women's 6K race at 3:20 p.m.
The No. 3 ranked Iona College men's cross country will be looking to claim their 16th consecutive (20th overall) men's championship. Last season, Iona had eight runners finish in the top ten to earn 15 team points and claim the championship. Iona's Richard Kipalgat finished in first place with a time of 24:51.5.
On the women's side, the No. 19 ranked Iona's women's team will be seeking their second straight cross country championship. The Gaels had four runners in the top ten last season and earned 26 team points in the victory. Loyola's Caitlin Dunn won last season's race with a time of 21:32.2.
