Field is Set for 2006 MAAC Men's and Women's Soccer Championships

EDISON, N.J. ? The fields are set for the 2006 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships, which will be held this weekend at Lessing Field on the campus of Fairfield University.

The men’s championship begins on Thursday, November 2. The first semifinal game will feature second-seeded Niagara University versus third-seeded Saint Peter’s College at 4:00 p.m. Fairfield, the number one seed, will then face fourth-seeded Loyola in the second semifinal game at 7:00 p.m.

The women’s championship will begin on Friday, November 3. Top-seeded Loyola College will take on Siena College, the fourth seed, in the first semifinal game at 4:00 p.m. Fairfield, the number three seed, will then host second-seeded Niagara for a 7:00 p.m. contest.

On Sunday, November 5, the men’s championship game will take place at 11:00 a.m., followed by the women’s championship game at 1:30 p.m. Both games will air live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.

The winners of the 2006 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships will earn the league’s automatic berth into the 2006 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships.
