IONA FINISHES THIRD IN THE COUNTRY AT 2006 DIVISION I NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Terre Haute, IN - The Iona College men's cross country team raced to a third place finish at the 2006 NCAA Division I National Championship on Monday afternoon. The Gaels finished behind only Colorado and Wisconsin, with Stanford and Oregon rounding out the top five. Sophomore Mohamed Khadraoui was Iona's top finisher at 23rd overall earning All-America honors.
Junior Harbert Okuti came in 40th, sophomore Andrew Ledwith was 57th, junior Mathew Kiplagat placed 69th, and junior Abraham Ng'etich finished 83rd. Senior Adam Hortian placed 89th but did not factor in the scoring.
