CVU names Siena's McCurty one of 15 'Rising Stars'

Edsion, NJ - The Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU) has selected Siena College freshman Middle Hitter Burgandy McCurty as one of their 15 'Rising Stars'.
McCurty was selected the 2006 MAAC Rookie of the Year and a First-Team All-MAAC selection after leading the conference with a .386 attack percentage. She also averaged 3.27 kills per game for Siena. McCurty earned Offensive Player of the Week honors once during the 2006 season, while claiming the Rookie of the Week honors three times.
Nebraska's Rachel Holloway was selected CVU Freshman of the Year and also was listed as a 'Rising Star'. CVU chose 13 other freshman as 'Rising Stars'.
