Iona's Ng'etich and Plank Named MAAC Cross Country Runners Of The Week

Edison, NJ ? Iona College’s Abraham Ng’etich and McKayla Plank have been named the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively.
Ng'etich, a senior, led the fourth ranked Iona College men's cross country team to a second place finish in the Blue Race at the 2007 Pre-National Invitational hosted by Indiana State University at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course. Ng'etich was eighth overall in the 8k race with a time of 23:31. The Gaels finished ahead of several ranked teams including number two Wisconsin at the event.
Plank, a junior, finished second overall in the 2007 Pre-National Invitational Women's 6k Open Race at the LaVern Gibson XC Course. Plank's time of 21:02.2 was less than six seconds off the pace of the race winner. She was the lone representative for the Gaels at the event.
