Udi Naim, Saint PEter's
F/M, So., 6-1, 170, Kefar Yona, Israel/Shret Natanya
Naim, a sophomore forward/midfielder, recorded four goals and one assist for the week in two wins for Saint Peter's. He scored all four goals in the 4-3 overtime win against Rider. In the 4-0 win versus Loyola, Naim added an assist to his resume for a total of nine points this week.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Jason Whitehead, Niagara
GK, Sr., 6-2, Middletown, N.Y./Minisink Valley
Whitehead, a senior goalkeeper, made his first starts of the 2007 season in Niagara’s two road wins. He recorded his first career shut out in a 1-0 win over Iona, where he tied his career high with five saves. Whitehead also started in Niagara’s 3-2 win over Fairfield, posting two saves before leaving the game with an injury in the 74th minute.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Jean Fauchet, Fairfield
F, Fr., 5-10, 150, Concord, Mass./Concord Carlisle
Fauchet, a freshman forward, scored his first two collegiate goals over the weekend, including the game winner against Canisius on Friday night. The goal represented his first collegiate points and pushed Fairfield in front by a 2-1 score with less than five minutes remaining in regulation. Fauchet came back and scored the team’s second goal against Niagara, a 3-2 loss to the Purple Eagles.
