Edison, NJ ? Rider University’s Josh Rosenbluth has been selected as the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Siena College’s Brittany Pavolko and Loyola College’s Caitlin Cassidy were named co-Women’s Swimmers of the Week.  Marist College’s Melissa Mangona earned her second consecutive Women’s Diver of the Week award.

Rosenbluth, a junior, won the 100 backstroke (51.61) and 200 backstroke (1:52.41) in a meet against Seton Hall University.  He also swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay that finished in 1:26.89.  All three finishes are top times in the MAAC this season.

Pavolko, a freshman, added three more wins to her already impressive resume in the Saints 146-101 victory over Fairfield on Saturday. The Pittsfield, Massachusetts native captured victories in the 200 freestyle (1:57.77) and the 100 butterfly (:59.64), while also making up part of the Saints 200 medley relay winning team, as the Green and Gold knocked off their MAAC rival for the first time in four years.

Cassidy, a freshman, set two pool records at St. Francis (PA) last Saturday, swimming a 58.92 in the 100 butterfly and part of the 400 medley relay team that posted a time of 4:05.71. Her 100 butterfly was also a Loyola school record. In addition, Cassidy won the 100 backstroke and finished second in the 100 freestyle.

In the Red Foxes first dual-meet of the season, Mangona, a senior tri-captain, won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.  Her scores of 262.42 (one-meter) and 264.30 (three-meter) were both more than 39 points better than the next diver.  In four competitive events on the year, Mangona has two second place and two first place finishes.  The senior has already qualified for the ECAC Championships and the NCAA Regional Zone Qualifiers.
