Fairfield's Lowenthal and Saint Peter's Riddick Earn Weekly Honors

BAENDU LOWENTHAL, FAIRFIELD

Junior, Forward, 6-0, Riverside, NJ/Riverside

Lowenthal opened the season with a bang, averaging 21.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in the first two games, shooting nearly 70 percent from the field. She hit her first eight shots of the year, on her way to a career-high 28 points in the season opening win over Richmond on Wednesday. She finished that game 12-13 (92.3%) from the field, a career-high for field goals made. In the home opener she hit her first two field goals on her way to a team-high 14 points, shooting 7-15. Lowenthal shot 67.9 percent, 19-28 from the field for the week. She had 16 rebounds in the two games, with 11 coming on the offensive glass, including seven offensive boards against Sacred Heart. Lowenthal had four assists and four steals on the week.

CHARLENE RIDDICK, SAINT PETER’S

Freshman, Forward, 6-1, Waterbury, CT/Chase

Charlene Riddick has jumpstarted the Peahens by averaging 12 points per game this week. She scored 12 points with eight boards against LIU on Monday and added another dozen with five rebounds and two blocks in the win over NJIT. In addition to her 12 ppg, Riddick averaged 6.5 rebounds per game.
