Franklin, a sophomore forward, averaged 17 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.0 assists in a 2-1 week for the Saints. In Siena’s upset of #20 Stanford he scored 14 points and had nine boards against the Cardinal’s nationally renowned front line. Franklin had 19 points, eight rebounds and three steals in Siena’s narrow 97-89 setback at Syracuse. In the Saints’ win over Fairleigh Dickinson, he had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Franklin shot 53.8 percent from the field on the week.

Anthohny Nelson, Niagara
Freshman, Guard, 6-1, 175, Plainfield, N.J./Plainfield
Nelson, a freshman guard, paced Niagara’s offensive attack in the Purple Eagles' 79-73 season-opening victory over Central Michigan on Friday. In his debut, he scored 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting, while grabbing five rebounds, handing out four assists and picking up three steals. With about three minutes remaining, Nelson hit a clutch three-pointer to expand Niagara’s lead to nine and put the game out of reach.
