Casey Frobey, Fairfield
F, So., 5-6, Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown
Frobey, a sophomore forward, scored three goals and added three assists for nine points. She began the week with a two-goal effort in the win over Saint Peter’s, including the game-winning goal. Against Loyola, Frobey recorded the assist on the Stags’ first goal, in leading the team back from a 2-0 deficit, to earn a tie. On Sunday, she assisted on the Stags’ first goal and than tallied the team’s final score against Rider.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Allison Lane, Marist
GK, Fr., 5-9, Marlton, N.J./Camden Catholic
Lane, a freshman goalkeeper, went 2-0 and made six saves in two matches. She recorded three stops in Marist’s 3-1 win over Niagara, and made three more saves versus Canisius in a 3-0 shutout. It was her fourth shutout of the year, and Lane is now 7-3-3 overall.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Nicole Cavallaro, Fairfield
F, Fr., 5-1, New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park Memorial
Cavallaro, a freshman forward, netted a goal and dished out four assists for six points. In the regular season finale, she tied her single-game record with four assists, one on each of the last four goals, including the game-winning tally against Rider. Those assists gave Cavallaro her 16th for her this season, the program’s single-season record, breaking the mark of JulieAnne Forman from 2001. She also knocked in a goal in the Stags’ win over Saint Peter’s on Tuesday.
