Jason Thompson, Rider
Senior, Forward, 6-11, 250, Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape
Thompson, a senior forward, averaged 25.0 points and 11.5 rebounds as the Broncs went 1-1 to open up the 2007-08 league season. Over the two contests, he compiled also five steals, five assists and four blocks while shooting 66 percent from the field. In the win over Canisius, Thompson compiled 25 points and 13 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season and the 37th of his career. The 13 rebounds gives him 878 for his career, breaking the Rider record of 874 set in 1977 by Chuck Simon.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Brian Rudolph, Loyola
Freshman, Guard, 5-11, 170, New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford
Rudolph, a freshman guard, averaged 10.0 points and 3.0 assists in a 1-1 week for the Greyhounds. He scored a career-high 11 points at Iona, making all five of his free throw attempts. Rudolph followed that with nine points and four assists in Loyola's win over Manhattan. For the week, he shot 58 percent from the floor (7-12).
