Wrice and Ivkovic Named MAAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Wrice
nearly single-handedly gave the Stags a win over ACC foe Boston College
as she finished with a team-high 24 points. The Stags trailed by one at
halftime, but the Eagles scored the first seven points of the second half to
open the largest lead of the game. After a Lauren Groom three-pointer cut the
deficit to five, Wrice scored four straight points to get back to within a
point. BC pulled away again with a 5-0 run, but Wrice answered again with four
straight points. In all, she scored 11 of 13 points and 15 of 21 for the Stags
in an 11 minute stretch to keep them in the game. Three of her four assists
came in the final minutes, twice giving Fairfield
a lead, and the last on the basket that provided the winning margin. Wrice also
added two steals and had six rebounds.

Ivkovic
maintained her status as a young threat as she helped lead the way in a 1-1
week for Iona. Ivkovic was the Gaels' leading
scorer with a career-high 17 points in the squad's 92-79 triumph over New Hampshire. In
the game, she was a perfect 7-7 from the field and 2-2 at the charity stripe, all
in only 14 minutes on the court. She added two timely steals, three rebounds,
and one block at Campbell.
