OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Amanda Brucia, Iona
5-10, So., 2M, Woodland Hills, CA / Calabasas
In conference play this weekend Amanda Brucia netted 20 of the Gaels 37 goals. In Iona's home victory over Siena Brucia found the back of the net six times and drew two ejections, one being a 4-meter. In the Gaels 8-3 win over Villanova she netter four goals, drew four kick outs, and had one field block. Against Wagner she tallied seven goals, two steals, and one kick out drawn. Brucia also went 4-for-4 on 4-meter shot attempts for the Gaels.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Christine Richards, Iona
5-4, Sr., G, Humble, TX
In MAAC play this weekend Richards had 35 saves and ten steals in four games played. In the Gaels victory over Villanova Richards had nine saves and grabbed one steal and in their win over Siena she had eight stops for her team.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Hilary Schroeder, Marist
5-9, Fr., 2M, Santa Barbara, Calif.
Schroeder totaled seven points in Marist's four games on the strength of six goals and an assist. The rookie 2M also drew a pair of ejections. In addition, Schroeder played strong on defense, collecting two steals and recording a field block.
