Siena Men and Women Lead After First Day of 2007 MAAC Golf Championships

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. ? The Siena College men’s team and the Siena College women’s team lead the way after the first round of the 2007 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships at the Magnolia Golf Course in Walt Disney World.

The Saint’s posted a team score of 296 after the first day of the 54-hole tournament, led by Bryan Bigley finishing with a score of 72. Rider University finished the day in second place with a score of 299. Loyola College came in third place with a score of 300. Niagara University (306) was fourth, Iona College and Fairfield University were tied for fifth (308), while Canisius College (318), Saint Peter’s College (328), and Manhattan College (333) rounded out the field.

For the women, Siena leads with a team score of 326 after round one of the 54-hole tournament. Fairfield completed the first round in second place with a score of 348.

Competition will resume tomorrow with the men teeing off at 6:52 a.m., and the women teeing off at 9:22 a.m.
