MAAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week - April 30, 2007

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brian Murray, Manhattan
6-3, Sr., A, Hillsdale, NJ / Bergen Catholic

Murray, who will graduate amongst the program's Top 5 all-time scoring leaders, added to his legacy this past week with seven goals and one assist. The senior attackman was the center of Manhattan's offensive effort on Saturday by scoring six goals, and assisting on another, in a 13-6 win over Canisius. Murray also netted a goal in Wednesday's 5-4 defeat against defending MAAC Champion Providence. His 32 goals in 2007 rank fourth all-time in Manhattan's single-season record book.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Peter Littell, Providence
Sr., GK, Upper Montclair, NJ

Littell led the Friars to a 2-0 week in MAAC play with victories over Manhattan (5-4) and previously unbeaten Siena (10-6). Littell allowed just 10 goals on the week for a goals against average of 5.00 and a 0.714 save percentage. He recorded 12 saves vs. Manhattan and 13 saves vs. Siena. Littell also picked up eight groundballs on the week. Siena entered the game as the leagues leading goal scoring team in the MAAC. The Friars also held the league’s leading individual goal scorer (Matt Girsh) scoreless on just two shots.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Shaun Dunn, Siena
5-10, Fr., M, Amityville, NY / Chaminade

Freshman midfielder Shaun Dunn tallied six points over two contests last week. On Wednesday, Dunn delivered a career performance as he posted five points in a 10-5 victory at Marist. Dunn registered three goals and two assists in the winning effort. With 5:24 left in the third quarter, Dunn recorded the game winning goal which secured the Saints first MAAC regular-season title. Then on Saturday, Dunn managed a goal against Providence.
