Field set for 2007 MAAC Men's Lacrosse League Championship

Edison, NJ ? The 2007 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse League Championship is set to begin Friday, May 4 on the campus of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD.

Siena College earned the top seed and their first MAAC Championship berth with a 7-1 league record and will face fourth seeded defending champion, Providence College in game one at 1:00 p.m. Providence finished the regular season with a 5-3 league record and is the only team in the league with a win over Siena this season.

Canisius College owns the second seed after earning a 5-3 conference mark and will square off against Saint Joseph’s University, who also finished 5-3, at 4:00 p.m. in game two. Canisius earned a 15-7 defeat over Saint Joseph’s earlier this season.

The championship game will be played on Sunday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m., with the winner earning the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship. Pairings for the championship will be announced Sunday, May 6 live on ESPNU from 9 to 10 p.m. Eastern time. Additionally, ESPNEWS will air a short selection announcement after 9:15 p.m. Eastern time.
