Fishkill, N.Y. -- Second-seeded Manhattan College (35-18) earned a spot in the 2007 Anaconda Sports MAAC Baseball Championship final game after defeating #3 Marist College (21-32), 3-2, in Game 5 of the championship at Dutchess Stadium.

Marist scored one run in the top of the second inning, with Brian McDonough racing home on a fielder's choice.

The Red Foxes jumped onto the scoreboard again in the top of the fourth as McDonough scored on a single to left center by Ryan Gauck.

After a 2:21 lightning delay, the Jaspers rallied to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, starting with Eric Nieto knocking a two RBI single to right field to bring home Dom Lombardi and Nunzio Franzese. Nieto then scored off of Rene Ruiz's double down the right field line to give Manhattan the eventual winning run.

Manhattan's Tom Costigan improved to 8-3 with the win, striking out six batters during 8.1 innings of work. Marist's Bobby Hastry finished the year at 0-2 on the mound.

Manhattan will play top-seeded Le Moyne College in Game 6 on Saturday, May 26, at 1:00 p.m. If the Jaspers win Game 6, the seventh and deciding game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
