Sovereign Bank Arena set to host USA Basketball Women's Senior National Team

Women's basketball fans will have a rare chance to watch the world's top two ranked teams compete against each other when the 2007-08 USA Basketball Women's Senior National Team takes on the Australia National Team on Sept. 16 in Trenton, N.J. The exhibition between 204 Olympic gold medalist USA and 2006 World Champion Australia is slated to tip-off at 1:00 p.m. at the Sovereign Bank Arena. The U.S. team will be comprised of members of the 2007-2008 USA Basketball Women's Senior National Team, which lists 22 players including eight Olympic gold medalists, six World Championship gold medalists and all 12 members of the bronze medalist 2006 USA World Championship Team.
The game is expected to feature Olympic gold medalists Katie Smith, Tamika Catchings, Tina Thompson, Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi; as well as Cappie Pondexter and more!
Sovereign Bank Arena will also host the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Rider University in 2009 & 2010.
