MAAC Announces 2006-07 Academic Honor Roll

Edison, N.J. - A total of 931 athletes were honored for their achievements both academically and athletically as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced the 2006-07 MAAC Academic Honor Roll.

 

To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, an athlete must hold a grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be in his or her second year of athletic eligibility.  The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members of the MAAC with athletes represented in all 25 sports that the conference sponsors.

 

Marist College heads the list of honored student-athletes with 135, followed by Iona College with 125 and Manhattan College with 100.  The rest of the list is as follows: Siena College 88, Niagara University 81, Loyola College 77, Fairfield University 73, Canisius College 68, Rider University 64, and Saint Peter’s College 57.  Among the associate members, La Salle University, which competes in the MAAC Football League, has the most with 17.
