Dickhans and van Ingen Named MAAC Cross Country Runners of the Week

EDISON, N.J. ? Canisius College’s Erik van Ingen and Niagara University’s Julie Dickhans have been named the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively.
Erik van Ingen, a freshman, earned top individual honors at the Little Three Championship this weekend. He completed the course in 23:45, making him the first Canisius runner in 10 years to win his first collegiate start. Canisius took six of the race’s top 10 spots.
Dickhans, a senior, captured the women’s title at the Little Three Meet at Cazenovia Golf Course in Buffalo, N.Y. Her individual title marked her fourth straight as she remained undefeated in Little Three races. Dickhans’ time of 18:40 over the 5K course was 38 seconds faster than the second-place finisher, and just 11 seconds shy of her career best, which she set last week at the Notre Dame Invitational. As a team, Niagara earned runner-up honors.
