Vizcaino and Dickhans Earn MAAC Cross Country Runners of the Week Honors

EDISON, N.J. ? Iona College’s Chris Vizcaino and Niagara University’s Julie Dickhans have been named the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively.
Vizcaino, a redshirt freshman, led a young Gael squad that finished second in the 6K Stony Brook Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park. He crossed the line with a time of 17:27.66, just over 10 seconds behind the race winner. With a team score of 36, the Gaels nearly halved second-place Quinnipiac University's score of 70.
Dickhans, a senior, was Niagara’s top women’s runner at the Duquesne Duals. She completed the 5K course in 19:02 to finish sixth overall, helping the Purple Eagles to a fifth-place team finish. The effort marked the 10th time in her career that the Dickhans has earned a Top-10 finish.
