MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Brittany Bisnott, Niagara
F, Sr., 5-5, Brampton, Ontario/St. Augustine Secondary
Bisnott, a senior forward, scored two goals, giving her 51 in her career, but it was her game-winning assist that helped the team to a 4-3 victory over Buffalo on Friday. The Brampton, Ont., native became just the third Purple Eagle and fourth MAAC member to total 50 goals in a career. It was the 16th time that the 2007 Preseason MAAC Player of the Year has recorded a multiple-goal game in her career.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Brett Maron, Fairfield
GK, Sr., 5-8, Billerica, Mass./Billerica
Maron, a senior goalkeeper, backstopped the Stags to a 1-0-1 opening weekend, shutting out Air Force 2-0 and forcing a 1-1 double-overtime tie with #14 Colorado, both in Denver. She played all 200 minutes, making 17 saves, for a save percentage of .944 and a 0.45 GAA for the week was 0.45. In the second game against the Buffaloes, Maron tied the Stags single-game school record with 14 saves.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Lauren Musumeci, Rider
M/F, Fr., 5-5, Annadale, N.J./North Hunterdon
Musumeci, a freshman midfielder/defender, scored her first collegiate goal 4:33 into the second half to give Rider a 1-0 lead over George Mason, and scored again four minutes later to give the Broncs a 2-0 victory. She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the adidas/Hartford Fall Classic.
