Niagara to Host Siena this Friday on ESPNU

Basketball Television Schedule with Niagara
University hosting Siena College
on Friday, January 11. Game time is
slated for 9:00 p.m. at the
Gallagher Center, and it will air live on ESPNU,
the 24-hour college sports network.
Siena is currently 8-6 overall and 3-1 in the MAAC. The Saints are led by sophomore guard/forward
Edwin Ubiles, who is averaging 16.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, and junior
guard Kenny Hasbrouck, who is registering 16.1 points and 2.8 steals a night.
Niagara is now 10-3 overall and 4-0 in league play. The Purple Eagles are led by senior guard/forward
Charron Fisher, who is averaging a nation-best 27.4 points and 9.5 rebounds per
game, and sophomore guard Tyrone Lewis, who is registering 15.8 points and 4.3 rebounds
a night.
This contest marks the 83rd
meeting between the two programs and the 59th at the Division I
level. Last year, Siena won two of the three contests between
the two schools with an 81-69 win at Pepsi Arena on December 6, followed by a 92-81
win at the Gallagher
Center on January 5. Niagara won
the most recent matchup with a 83-79 win over Siena in the title game of the 2007 Bank of
America MAAC Basketball Championship. Siena holds a 42-40
advantage in the all-time series between the two schools.
