Rider to Host Iona on January 21 on MSG Network

Edison, N.J. ? The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference continues its 2007-08 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule with Rider University hosting Iona College on Monday, January 21. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Gymnasium, and it will air live on the MSG Network.
Iona is currently 7-12 overall and 3-4 in the MAAC. The Gaels are led by senior forward Dexter Gray, who is averaging 11.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, as well as sophomore guard Milan Prodanovic, who is contributing 10.5 points and 3.1 rebounds an outing.
Rider is now 12-6 overall and 5-2 in league play. The Broncs are led by senior forward Jason Thompson, who is averaging 20.4 points and a conference-leading 11.4 rebounds per game, and sophomore guard Ryan Thompson, who is registering 15.4 points and 6.9 caroms a night.
This contest marks the 38th meeting between the two programs. Last year, Rider won two out of three contests between the two schools last season, starting with a 69-55 win at Alumni Gymnasium on December 7, 2006, followed by a 77-62 win in the first round of the 2007 Bank of America MAAC Basketball Championship. The Gaels earned a 69-57 victory at the Hynes Athletics Center on February 3. Iona holds a 20-17 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools.
