Jablonski, Pavolko, O'Nalty, and Abdo Take Home Weekly Honors

Edison, NJ ? Marist’s Greg Jablonski was named the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Siena’s Brittany Pavolko earned Women’s Swimmer of the Week honors. Marist’s Devon O’Nalty and Canisius’ Kaeli Abdo were selected as the Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week, respectively.

Jablonski, a senior, won two events and was part of a winning relay on Saturday versus Southern Connecticut State Universtiy. The Red Foxes won the meet 158-142. Jablonski won the 100 and 200 yard breaststrokes (59.61 and 2:12.90), and also finished second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 1:57.97. He also helped the Red Foxes win the 200 yard medley relay.

Pavolko led the Saints in a busy week in which the team won two of their three meets and improved to 9-3 on the season including 5-1 in the MAAC. In Wednesday’s win against NJIT, Pavolko won both events in which she competed in, capturing first place times in the 100 back (1:01.53) and the 200 IM (2:17.89). Then in Friday’s meet against northeast power Vermont, Pavolko took home first in the 100 fly (1:00.70), while also securing three second place finishes in the 200 fly (2:14.50), 100 free (54.90) and 200 free relay (1:40.28). The Pittsfield, Mass. native concluded her stellar week by winning both individual events in which she competed in on Sunday against Canisius, pacing the pool in the 200 free (2:01.88) and 200 fly (2:20.43), before ending the day by combining with three teammates to break an eight year old Siena Swim Center record in capturing the 400 free relay in a time of 3:39.97.

O'Nalty won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 267.85 and placed second off the 3-meter board with a score of 271.55. This marks the second consecutive week the Red Foxes senior has had a first and a second place finish. Last week versus Lehigh, O'Nalty won the 3-meter event with an amazing score of 309.83.

Abdo extended her perfect record in dual meets this season by sweeping four events, all against MAAC schools. Against Siena, Abdo totaled 229.65 points in the 1-meter and then had 237.38 points in the 3-meter. Against Niagara, Abdo won the 1-meter with a total of 219.90 points and the 3-meter with 216.60 points. On the season, Abdo has won all 12 diving events in Canisius dual meets.
