Fairfield to Host Canisius on January 25 on ESPNU

Edison, N.J. ? The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference continues its 2007-08 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule with Fairfield University hosting Canisius College on Friday, January 25. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the Arena at Harbor Yard, and it will air live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.
Canisius is currently 3-15 overall and 1-7 in the MAAC. The Golden Griffins are led by sophomore guard Frank Turner, who is averaging 12.1 points and 4.4 assists per game, as well as freshman forward Tomas Vazquez-Simmons, who is contributing 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds an outing.
Fairfield is now 6-12 overall and 4-4 in league play. The Stags are led by junior guard Jonathan Han, who is averaging 10.7 points and 5.8 assists per game, and sophomore forward Greg Nero, who is registering 9.3 points and 4.8 rebounds a night.
This contest marks the 63rd meeting between the two programs. Last year, Fairfield won both regular season contests between the two schools with a 75-64 win at the Arena at Harbor Yard on December 10, 2006, followed by a 67-63 win at the Koessler Athletic Center on February 2. The Stags hold a 33-29 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools.
