Senior, Forward, 6-11, 250, Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape
Thompson, a senior forward, averaged 16.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game to lead the Broncs to a 3-0 week and a share of first place in the MAAC. He connected on 18-of-35 attempts from the field, while collecting eight assists and seven steals throughout the week.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Jay Gavin, Marist
Freshman, Guard, 6-1, 195, Seat Pleasant, Md./Bishop McNamara
Gavin, a freshman guard, averaged a team-high 13.7 points per game as Marist went 3-0 this past week. He was the game’s high scorer with 16 points at Iona on Jan. 24, and tied for the game high in scoring with 13 against Canisius on Jan. 27. Gavin also drained six three-pointers on the week and was 13-for-18 (.722) from the free-throw line.
