Fralinger, Modrov, Korn, and Mangona Selected For Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ ? Loyola’s Matt Fralinger was named the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Rider’s Priscilla Modrov was chosen as the Women’s Swimmer of the Week. Rider’s Dylan Korn and Marist’s Melissa Mangona were selected as the Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week, respectively.

Fralinger, a freshman from Bridgeton, N.J, won the 100 breaststroke (58.47) and 200 breaststroke (2:08.71), and was part of Loyola’s winning 200 Medley Relay team as the Greyhounds defeated Towson for the first time in 10 years.

Modrov, a junior, won the 100 butterfly (57.19), 200 butterfly (2:05.43) and 400 IM (4:26.33), and swam on the winning 200 medley relay with a time of 1:50.01. Modrov’s 4:26.33 in the 400 IM set a new Lafayette Pool record, breaking her own mark set two years ago.

Senior diver and tri-captain Dylan Korn won the one-meter (3:44.80) in a victory at Lafayette. Korn qualified on the one-meter to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division I Zone A Prequalifying Meet for the NCAA Championships. His score was also a new school record for a 6 Dive Championship Format List.

Mangona, a senior, won both boards in the fifth consecutive dual-meet for the Red Foxes. In Saturday’s meet versus UMBC, Mangona won the one-meter event with a score of 248.55, more than 65 points better than the second place diver. Mangona also won the three-meter board with 240.90.
