MAAC Opens Basketball 2008 Television Schedule with Fairfield at Loyola on ESPNU

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will kick off its 2008 MAAC Basketball
Television Schedule on Friday, January 4, with Fairfield
University taking on Loyola College
at Reitz Arena at 7:00 p.m.,
live ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.
Fairfield
stands at 3-9 overall. The Stags are led
by junior guard Jonathan Han, who is averaging 12.3 points and 5.6 assists per
game. Sophomore forward Greg Nero is
contributing 10.0 points and 4.4 rebounds an outing for Fairfield.
Loyola is now 5-7 overall.
The Greyhounds are led by senior guard Gerald Brown, who averaging 19.9
points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Junior
guard Marquis Sullivan is registering 11.3 points while shooting 41.0 percent
from three-point range.
Both teams are 1-1 in MAAC play this season. Last year, Loyola won two out of the three
meetings between the two schools, first with a 67-59 win over Fairfield at Reitz Arena on February 11, followed
by a 76-72 victory in the quarterfinals of the 2007 Bank of America MAAC
Basketball Championship. The Stags
earned a 65-62 win over Loyola at the Arena at Harbor Yard on February 5. Fairfield
leads the all-time series with Loyola, 29-12.
