Smith and Rovegno Selected as Indoor Track Performers of the Week

John Smith was selected as the MAAC Indoor Track Men’s Performer of the Week,
while Loyola’s Andrea Rovegno was named the Women’s Performer of the Week.
Smith, a senior distance runner from Cliffwood Beach, N.J, anchored Rider’s distance medley relay team that finished
second at the New Balance Invitational at the Armory in New York. Smith ran the
final mile leg in 4:12.9 as the team finished with an IC4A qualifying time of
10:12.23.
Rovegno, a senior from Wyckoff, N.J., won the 3,000-meter
race at Bucknell last Saturday. She posted her best time of the season in the
event, running a 10:02.52. Her time also currently stands as the fastest in the
MAAC this season.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track Championships will
be held on Friday, February 22nd at The Armory Track & Field
Center in New York City.
