Arena at Harbor Yard Hosts MAAC Basketball Doubleheader on Presidents Day

Edison, N.J. ? The Arena at Harbor Yard will be the site for the next televised MAAC men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader this season on Monday, February 18. Both games will air live on the MSG Network.
The first game of the twin bill will feature a match-up between the women’s programs from Saint Peter’s College and Fairfield University at 5:00 p.m. Saint Peter’s, 9-5 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Tania Kennedy, who is contributing 14.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, and senior forward Lauma Reke, who is posting 12.9 points and 7.2 rebounds an outing for the Peahens. Fairfield, 8-6 in the MAAC, is led by senior guard Sabra Wrice, who is averaging 16.6 points and 4.2 rebounds a night, and junior forward Baendu Lowenthal, who is adding 14.0 points and 7.9 rebounds a game for the Stags.
Game two has the Fairfield men taking on Marist College for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. Marist, 9-6 in the MAAC, is led by freshman guard Jay Gavin, who is registering 12.8 points and 2.8 rebounds a night, and freshman guard David Devezin, who is contributing 9.3 points and 2.3 caroms a night for the Red Foxes. Fairfield, 9-6 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Jonathan Han, who is averaging 10.8 points and 6.2 assists an outing, and sophomore forward Anthony Johnson, who is netting 9.8 points and 7.2 rebounds a night for the Stags.
