MAAC Player of the Week

LAURA MENTY, SIENA

Senior, Forward, 6-1, Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug

Menty had a career day on Saturday against Fairfield, posting a career high 31 points. Menty shot an unbelievable 10-of-12 from the floor and cashed in on 11 of her 12 free throw attempts. She was also strong on the defensive end as well, tallying five rebounds while also tying a season high with two blocked shots. Menty’s 31 point performance was the sixth highest scoring output by a player in Arena at Harbor Yard history, finishing just shy of Fairfield’s Sabra Wrice who scored 36 against the Saints in Bridgeport last season. Following her performance, Menty retook the league lead in scoring average (19.3 ppg) and is looking to become the first Siena player since Melanie Halker in the 1998-99 season to lead the league in scoring. A pillar of consistency, Menty has scored in double figures in all 24 games this season and 27 straight dating back to last year.
