Poughkeepsie, N.Y. ? For the first time in school history, the Marist women’s basketball team is ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. The Red Foxes are ranked 25th in the latest AP poll released on Monday, becoming the first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) team since La Salle in 1989 to be ranked in the poll.

Marist is 26-2 this season and has won its last 16 games, including a 71-61 win over Manhattan on Sunday. This streak matches the program’s longest which happened in the 2004-2005 season. Marist has already clinched its fifth consecutive MAAC regular-season championship and are having its best conference season in history, having won its first 16 conference games.

The Red Foxes, also ranked 23rd in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll, will go on the road one final time in the regular season on Wednesday when they take on Saint Peter's in Jersey City, N.J. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Friday but was postponed due to inclement weather.
