TIARA HEADEN, IONA
Senior, Guard, 5-9, Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill
Headen had a fantastic week for the Gaels, posting the highest scoring totals of any player in both of Iona’s games. She helped lead her squad past Siena with a 27 point, 10 rebound double-double performance in which she made 11 field goals including three from beyond the arc and went 2-2 from the line. In a loss to Saint Peter’s, Headen recorded 21 points, nine rebounds, and a steal while hitting all seven free throw attempts. On the week, she averaged a huge 24 points and nine rebounds per game while going 9-9 from the free throw line.
BAENDU LOWENTHAL, FAIRFIELD
Junior, Forward, 6-0, Riverside, N.J./Riverside
Lowenthal averaged a double-double for the week, with 23.5 points and 10.0 rebounds for the Stags. She scored over 20 points in each of the games as she shot 61.5 percent from the field and 71.4 percent from the free throw line. Lowenthal scored 26 points in the Stags home win over Saint Peter’s. Shot 66.7 percent from the field in the win and knocked down 10-12 at the line. The 10 made free throws was a career-high. Lowenthal had her fifth double-double of the year at Siena, with 21 points and 11 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
MEREDITH TOLLEY, LOYOLA
Freshman, Forward, 6-0, Monrovia, Md./Urbana
Tolley averaged 15 points and five rebounds in two games last weekend. She shot over 57-percent from the field and made 5-of-10 3-point attempts. On Friday at Niagara, Tolley scored a career-high 20 points and added six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Tolley scored 18 of her points in the second half, marking the most a Loyola player has scored in a half this season. On Sunday at Canisius, Tolley scored 10 points and blocked two shots. Her 15.0 points per game average in the two contests tripled her season average entering the weekend.
