MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

 

KEVIN HILL, VMI

 A, Sr. 6-0, Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side

Hill had an outstanding week, including his six-point performance that boosted the Keydets to a win over Marist in their MAAC opener. Against the Red Foxes, the senior attack notched five goals, including the marker that appeared to turn the momentum late in the third quarter. Overall for the week, Hill had five goals and two assists.

 

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

 

ROBERT BRYAN, PROVIDENCE

G, Jr., 5-7, Apex, N.C./The Taft School

 

Bryan enjoyed a fantastic week in goal against No. 3 North Carolina and MAAC foe Manhattan. Bryan held the high-scoring Tar Heels to eight goals on 31 shots attempts, recorded a season-high 12 saves and picked up five ground balls. In the MAAC opener versus Manhattan, Bryan made two saves and held the Jaspers to just four goals.

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

 

COREY ZINDEL, MARIST

A, Fr., 6-1, Randolph, N.J./Randolph

 

Zindel led Marist with 10 points in two games this week against Quinnipiac and VMI. He started the week with a hat trick and three assists in the Red Foxes’ 10-7 loss to Quinnipiac on Wednesday. In Marist’s MAAC opener against the Keydets, Zindel scored twice and added two assists.
