Rider's Burke Finishes 39th at NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio?Rider University sophomore diver Amanda Burke (Churchville, Pa./William Tennent) placed 39th on the one-meter at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by Ohio State University Thursday.
Burke scored 222.50 in the six-dive event with 40 points separating her from the consolation round of 16.
Burke placed second at the NCAA Zone ?A’ Regional in Buffalo, New York last week to qualify, becoming the first athlete in the history of Rider swimming or diving to qualify for NCAA’s.
Burke, a Communication major, is a two-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champion on the one-meter and also won the three-meter at MAAC’s in 2007, earning Female Diver of the Meet honors.
Burke also won Diver of the Meet honors at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) championships, winning both the one and three meter boards.
