Manhattan Claims Both MAAC Track and Field Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ ? Manhattan's Dexter Jules and Siri Fagerlund were named the MAAC Male and Female Track and Field Performers of the Week, respectively.
Jules, a senior from Blackwood, N.J., won the men’s triple jump on the main day of competition at the Baldy Castillo Invitational at Arizona State Saturday, and in doing so posted an NCAA Outdoor Regional qualifying mark of 15.40 meters. Jules, the defending MAAC Outdoor triple jump champion, also qualified for the IC4A Outdoor Championships with his jump. He took fourth place in triple jump at last year’s NCAA East Regionals with personal record of 15.83 meters and grabbed first place at the IC4A Outdoor Championships with a leap of 15.71.
Fagerlund, a native of Helsingborg, Sweden, posted an ECAC Outdoor Championships qualifying time of 14.33 seconds in winning the 100 meter hurdles at the Baldy Castillo Invitational.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track Championships will be held on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J.
